July 26 | Alterations + Repairs Workshop
Bring in a thrifted piece and breathe new life into clothes you’ve grown out of, sworn you are going to repair one day, and/or that just need some extra love to make them fit.
As part of our BYOM (bring your own materials) workshop series, all guests are required to bring 1-3 garments to reimagine and repurpose across four customization stations –
Alteration station – Altering for better fit, form, or function by tapering, hemming, and/or making smaller or bigger
Repair station – Patching holes, and darn rips to ensure wearability once again
Embellishment station – Customizing garments with applique, embroidery, trim, beadwork, and other aesthetic details
Freestyle station – Disassembling garments and reconstructing them into a new and/or altered garment
Due to this workshop’s freeform structure, participants are encouraged to focus on 1-3 garments across the 3-hour session to ensure progress. This workshop’s outcome is determined by your creativity, ability, and ambition.
