May 24 | Knot Your Average Bag Workshop
Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll create your very own stylish and functional macramé market bag. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience with macramé, this class will guide you through the process of crafting a durable and beautiful bag perfect for groceries, beach essentials, or everyday use.
Learn the intricacies of macramé from seasoned artisan, Linsey Martin of Malama Macrame, who passionately shares her craft. Throughout the process, you’ll learn the fundamental knots and techniques that form the foundation of macramé art, as well as sewing basics to cut and sew the bag lining.
In this workshop, you will:
Learn foundational macramé knots, including the square knot and double half-hitch, to build a sturdy and decorative design
Explore basic sewing techniques to attach a fabric lining (optional) for added structure and durability
Customize your bag with different cord colors and knot variations to match your personal style
All materials will be provided, and you’ll leave with a finished macramé market bag and the skills to create more on your own.
