Sept 27 | Patches + Pieces Workshop
In this 4-hour workshop, we remaster items of clothing using specific patchwork and piecework techniques. Patchwork is defined as sewing fabric on top of existing fabric. Piecework is defined as creating a larger piece of fabric out of smaller pieces of fabric.
As part of our BYOM (bring your own materials) workshop series, all guests are required to bring 1-2 garments and/or remnants to reimagine, repurpose, and upcycle across three stations –
Color blocking station – Creating various shapes of small pieces of fabric to create a new garment
Drip station – Cutting and sewing pieces of fabric into organic shapes and reapplying them to a garment
Patch station – Bring patches from home to apply to your garment(s) or design custom patches
Due to this workshop’s freeform structure, participants are encouraged to focus on 1-2 stations across the 4-hour session to ensure progress. This workshop’s outcome is determined by your creativity, ability, and ambition.
